Whimsical Laguna Beach Elopement

from the journal

Getting Ready…

Kristin & Erick got ready in the breeziest, beachiest little second floor apartment in downtown Laguna Beach, snacking on coconut, lemon, rose and basil macarons from Le Macaron Laguna (my favorite was the lemon by a landslide, but highly recommend every single flavor they have). These macarons can also be ordered in towers which is amazing if you’re planning an event or a picnic! Paige with Refined Bridal gave Kristin the perfect natural glow and beach waves. This dress is an ASOS, but we rented it from Shopping Sonder for this shoot! Wait until you see it in the light at golden hour! Finally, this dreamy and whimsical bouquet was arranged by The Flower Boy Co. who creates floral art for weddings and events. Truly, I think this bouquet was my favorite part of this session and definitely one of my favorites I’ve ever photographed.

Indoor Photos…

Since the space was so cool & beachy, we took a few cozy shots of Kristin & Erick just before heading downtown and finally to the beach.

The Walk Downtown…

Since our getting ready house was walkable to the beach, we did just that! We didn’t really expect to stop much, but kept finding little corners with amazing lighting and wildflowers. I also was half scoping out a dinner spot for later hahaha.

FINALLY (before we get to beach shots, I know I know) we walked down this open street with twinkle lights and people just sitting down for happy hour. A few people saw Kristin & Erick and congratulated them or cheered, and eventually the ENTIRE row of people eating were standing up and clapping for them, cheering and waving. It was such a funny moment but K & E were killing it and waving right back.

The Beach Sunset…

Ok the moment we’ve all been waiting for – sunset lb shots. These truly speak for themselves…
