70s Inspired California Maternity Session

from the journal

Emma is due this March, and wanted to commemorate her very last few glowing weeks of pregnancy with a fun session! So naturally we went full sunshine, 70s inspired & wildflower vibes.

You guys know I’d be a florist if I wasn’t so busy behind a camera, so I can never pass up a chance to DIY a bouquet for casual sessions. The vibe for this whole session was inspired by Emma’s sunny personality & chamomile flowers! I put this little arrangement together (thanks Trader Joes and the Little Italy farmers market) using pink & yellow spray roses and of course chamomile flowers.

Emma wore this flowy Free People dress (can’t recommend FP enough for wardrobe inspo) and had her makeup done with the incredibly talented Alexis in her Hillcrest salon (find her @selflovewithalexis). What do you think about the cute little flower freckles? Tell us in the comments!

We met at a quiet little spot down the street from Windansea Beach where we found this cool beach pathway & nestled staircase down to the beach. We kept this session light and fun, sunny and joyful, and a true celebration of baby P’s welcome to the world 🙂
