The thing I love the most about photography is the way I'm able to give someone the thing they may treasure the most one day, the one thing they would take with them from a burning building (dark sorry), the tangible piece of evidence that shows how tightly you held each other, the way you looked at each other, your newborn's tiny button nose! Photographs can encapsulate the very essence of the people and places we love the most in such a beautiful way.
There is truly no possession I value more than the early photos I have with my husband, relatives who I can't hug anymore, or childhood friends who have moved away and have totally different lives but the exact same smile I know and love. With every session or wedding day, I want to give that to you, too.
I'm originally from Rhode Island, but I met my husband in college in Maryland. Both of us were active duty Navy for about 7 years (he still is!) and we've moved all over the country with our little fam. We live in Norfolk, VA with our two dogs and a very sassy cat.
We love cooking (Steve's an insanely good cook), good breweries, fast food runs, dog beaches, biking to brunch, and a good rainy day on the couch. We had one of those weird COVID wedding situations where we got engaged and legally married in 2019, but had our family wedding in the fall of 2021. Since we had a 3 year planning process, our wedding evolved from a 270 person ridiculously expensive shindig to a 40 person wedding with the people most important to us, and it was perfect. I am grateful for this, and I am always an advocate for having the wedding you want, that feels natural & right to you.
A bit about me - I love all things New England - dunks, lobstah rolls & the Pats! Mac & cheese, or honestly just any carbs covered in cheese, is my love language, and I could drink cold margaritas and iced coffee year round. I always get emotional when I see your grandparents or older couples slow dancing at your wedding receptions because I have so much hope that that's going to be us one day, and MOH speeches make me a little misty too - female friendship is a love of its own. Mostly I love being around people and hearing your unique and beautiful stories that led you to me.
The fact that your wedding day is most likely the one day you'll have all of your very favorite people in one room celebrating you is just.....so cool. The moms who made you the woman you are, the grandparents who gave you something old to wear in your hair, the friends you took your first tequila shots with, your partner's childhood friend who knows stories even you don't know, the people who have been through it all with you before you had each other. That is one of the purest and most beautiful milestones in life, you should have photos that honor that.
