Molly Rose
My journey to photography began with a deep love for storytelling—those old family photos that have a really good story behind them. Photography is my way of preserving a little piece of life’s magic.
I love being able to document the unique essence of different people & families and celebrate what makes people so different, interesting and beautiful. Veering away from work that is trendy, styled, “Instagram worthy”, I find myself turning more towards honest, documentary work that makes me feel something. To me, the memories most worth documenting are the in-between moments that feel raw and simple, yet full of life and deeply felt.
Trends come and go… but real connection is timeless.
[ my own wedding ]
Having navigated the intricacies of planning my own wedding, I understand the delicate balance between wanting to be present, celebrating with your loved ones — and also documenting those precious memories of your day in a way that isn’t performative, but true to you.
My wedding work has become much more emotional and honest over the years, but has still held onto a bit of that classic and traditional look. Classics, just with more heart I like to say. I really appreciate simplicity and am inspired by wedding photos of older generations when everything wasn’t so styled. Just a happy portrait of a smiling couple.
[ documenting families ]
I believe so strongly that children should be photographed giggling, sliding down bannisters, running, getting into things, rolling in the sand, getting food on their faces, belly laughing, playing in the waves at the beach, laying on mamas lap in no particular way, messing with their siblings, and just being. My work is child-led, focusing on connection over perfection, joy & spontaneity over formality.
[ how I work ]
My work is not about trends. I won’t rush you through a checklist of poses or impose artificial moments. I won’t even force your kids to smile (but when we’re finished, they’ll be belly-laughing!) Photo sessions are so much more than just “getting the shot” and delivering pretty photos. It’s about creating memories, telling stories and preserving the pieces that make your life anything but cookie-cutter.
