Guildford Farm, Charlottesville Virginia Wedding

Heather & Josh

Heather & Josh’s Guildford Farm wedding was a beautiful mix of romance, elegance, the most delicious ice cream, fresh florals, and so much love. The thing that stuck out to me the most was the way these two have surrounded themselves with loved ones who lift them up and have supported them in their relationship since the very beginning. Listening to these speeches and prayers, words of love and encouragement was the most heartwarming thing. When Josh called Heather his blue eyed beauty during his vows, I melted.

These two got engaged during what was supposed to be a Disney birthday trip…turned surprise engagement trip! They started planning their wedding and were looking for photographs with personality and authenticity to them. They wanted those fun photo ops we all know and love – the bridesmaid laughter, dance parties and cheers, and the game day walk up and toasts for the guys. But they also wanted photographs that really showed the depth and honesty of their love – simple as that – which would stand the test of time for them. I think we did that for them!

The Venue

Heather and Josh began and ended their day at Guildford Farm, a stunning and classic wedding venue in Ruckersville, Virginia outside Charlottesville. The Guildford Farm getting ready spaces offer incredible light, beautiful furniture and decor and endless options for photos. It is truly one of the most beautiful wedding day getting ready spaces I’ve been able to photograph. Heather & her girls gathered upstairs, where the building has large windows, four poster beds, antique furniture, wood floors, and really cute themed colored rooms! Josh arrived and headed downstairs, where the groom suite offers a pool table and this fantastic stone walled room, which is a little dark but an absolute dream if you like flash getting ready photos like I do!

Heather’s mom helped her into her dress, and Josh’s dad (also his best man, the sweetest) helped him straighten out his tie and get him ready to go upstairs and see his bride in her dress for the first time.

The First Look

The Wedding Party

Heather & Josh wanted a photo of the wedding party with Heather’s girls on the balcony of Guildford Farm and Josh’s guys on the front porch, so we were able to set that up before it was time for Heather and Josh to finally see each other!

The Ceremony

The wedding ceremony was held at Guildford Farm’s barn at the top of the hill, with incredible views of Shenandoah and the Blue Ridge Mountains behind Heather & Josh. The two said vows, exchanged rings, and walked down the aisle with the sweetest smiles on their faces, ready to eat ice cream, party, and celebrate their marriage.

Newlyweds

By the time the sun was setting, we took advantage of the mountain views literally right outside the door from the reception site, and right where Heather & Josh had said their vows – and took their newlywed photos.

To bring this perfect Charlottesville wedding to a close, Heather & Josh celebrated with Moo Thru ice cream, dancing into the night, and a sparkler exit to remember. It was an honor to be a part of this beautiful Guildford Farm wedding day, and I feel blessed that couples like Heather & Josh let me be just a small part of their day. Thank you for trusting me with these memories, and wishing you two all the best in your first year as husband and wife!
