Family photos that feel like home

Documenting families & motherhood in Norfolk, Virginia Beach & beyond.

For me, this is about preserving your memories. What if we looked at portrait sessions differently? Instead of perfectly posed, every hair in place, what if they truly brought us back to the sound of our baby’s laughter, the way their eyes sparkle running around their backyard in the summer sans pants. If you felt a little piece of you light up, keep reading.

We’ll be the best fit if…

You’re open to a session that allows your children to be fully themselves, even if the season you’re in feels wild & crazy.

You care about holding onto the little things you might forget one day, like your toddler’s tiny hands or that way your husband looks at you.

You’re looking for photos that feel lived-in, informal, full of genuine joy and care, and like little glimpses of your real life & the magic it holds.

You value connection and memory-keeping over the perfect Christmas card.

You want an experience that feels calm, supportive, and free of pressure.

You’re creating photos for the long run.

From the moment we met her; she was fun, engaging and made us all feel very comfortable. So comfortable that we were able to be ourselves and Molly captured organic moments....laughing, playing, just being us....the camera seemed to disappear. We couldn't be happier with the finished product; the lighting, artistic angles and warmth of the photos exceeded our expectations!

Motherhood, Families & life

Sessions last anywhere from 45 minutes for a park session with little ones, to 2 hours for a downtown, wandering maternity session with an ice cream stop! It all depends on what we have planned and your comfort level. We wrap up when we feel like we’ve “got it” and I’ve found that this gives us all a more relaxed experience. If one of your kids needs a little break, no problem at all. If you need a little break, also no problem at all!

I use a questionnaire that will take you 10 minutes (hi, busy mamas), and tells me everything that matters to you. We make a basic plan for your session based on your vision and your family, but I also make space for moments to unfold naturally. I will never force a child to look at me or to smile. I instead encourage bringing out their personalities the way you would at home or during a fun weekend outing, in a much more personal way.

All sessions include:

  • A relaxed timeline. No need to squeeze into 20 minutes, no need to “fill” 2 hours.

  • Location recommendations, wardrobe guidance, and a complete What to Expect guide

  • The Family Session Questionnaire, my unique planning tool for crafting a session around you

  • A personalized experience that doesn’t feel cookie-cutter or inauthentic

  • Your digital gallery within 2 weeks

  • No travel fees within Virginia. I regularly travel between Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Richmond and Charlottesville

Sessions are $500

Optional add-ons:

  • Albums & Prints that can be designed and ordered by you, from your gallery webpage

  • 35m Film Photography, for families who value nostalgia, authenticity and something a little unique

    $80

  • Camcorder footage (coming soon)

How we got amazing photos with a 2 year old that was OUT FOR BLOOD is absolutely beyond me. Molly came through with two camera awkward adults, a grumpy toddler, and a 7 year old comedian. Thank you so much for capturing our little family in the best way. I am so thankful to have these moments in pictures.

The process

1. Scheduling

Once we narrow down a date, a signed contract and $100 of your total officially books your photos. Unless you have a vision already in mind, we can narrow down the location and meeting time as we plan together, so there is no pressure to know exactly what you want!

2. choosing a location

I have a great list of tried-and-true locations, but I’m always going to be partial to a place that holds meaning for you, or that your children already get excited about visiting!

3. plAnning

For outdoor locations, I love a sunset session, however I highly recommend the happiest time of day for your kids above all else. There is beautiful light to be found any time of day. Planning includes a quick questionnaire for you, and a guide that explains exactly what you can expect when we meet for your photos.

4. galleries

Galleries are delivered via email within 3 weeks (typically just a week or two, depending on season!), and your memories are yours to hold onto!

5. your Heirlooms

Order keepsakes like prints, albums, and beautiful frames for your wall straight from your online gallery page.

What truly stood out were the lifestyle shots she captured. The candid moments of us laughing, making funny faces, and simply enjoying each other’s company are now some of our most cherished memories. While she also took some fantastic traditional family photos with smiling faces, it was these genuine, unposed moments that truly captured the spirit of our family.

  • You are so not alone (MOST of my sessions are this way!) and I am not scared off at all! I actually love this and find things go best if we all lean into it. There is no need to prepare for a sit-still-and-smile experience. I promise I’ll get you that classic smiling photo, but I also like to guide you into connection, and let things flow naturally so you have photos that feel like memories of the love you all share.

  • Yes! Your session fee includes a full gallery of 75+ images, I do not ask you to pay extra for your digital photos.

  • I absolutely do, but my process is a little different! I don’t love to think of it as posing, but you will never feel lost or confused. I promise I’ll be giving you guidance the entire time to help you look your best but also draw out natural emotions and give you space to have fun & be playful, too! I definitely come prepared with lots of little tricks to keep your kids engaged and having fun, but I’ve found that kids respond best to me when I’m not forcing them to do anything.

  • I will send you family a planning & style guide beforehand that should help with this, but I always recommend those tried & true closet staples you know you look great in! Comfort and movement is key for your outfits. This may sound wild, but I’d also encourage you to let your kids have a say in what they wear, if they’re interested! It might be a fun surprise, and there’s nothing better than a kid who is excited about photos because they got to wear their favorite outfit.

  • Photographing stunning in-home sessions is much more about the light and shadows in your home, and the little pieces of your story that we all (myself included) lovingly call “the mess.” Your home does not have to be Pinteresty to photograph beautifully. I have years of experience photographing in-home sessions that feel beautiful and heirloom quality, without losing the realness that makes your home yours.

  • I believe so strongly than we can do better than a Pinterest shot list or copying photos from someone else. I really want to give you my very best work! Instead, I would love to hear the “feelings” you want channeled in your photos, or details - like you love the way your baby’s tiny hands look next to yours.
