I am a family photographer who loves the real stuff - the baby dimples, the rosy cheeks, the messy hair, the family pets, the dishes in the sink, the in-betweens, and all the little details we lose over time that make each day in this world so sweet. I know how you feel

I empathize with how vulnerable it can feel to show up for family photos, and I want you to know it doesn’t have to feel this way, and I’ve got you. Before our session, I want to understand what you want preserved the most about this season of life you're in. Is it your kids big laughter and tiny hands? Is it the way you feel watching your partner become a dad? Maybe it's your forever home you just moved into, or the bond between your new baby and your older dog.

When it comes to planning family sessions, I want everyone comfortable and happy even more than I want the best light. I love to recommend spots your kids get excited about and are already comfortable with, and outings they enjoy. My family sessions are intentional, but child-led and unstructured, with plenty of time for meltdowns (which are so common and do not phase me!). Our time together is about so much more than getting a Christmas card photo.

You receive previews of your session within a few days, and your full gallery is in your hands within 3 weeks.

You are so not alone (MOST of my sessions are this way!) and I am not scared off at all! I actually love this and find things go best if we all lean into it. Try to avoid prepping your kids for a sit-still-and-smile experience, because this will not be that. I promise I’ll get you that classic holiday card photo, but once we have that I like to let your kids really lead a session so that it’s a memory they enjoy too.
Yes! Your session fee includes a full gallery of 75+ images, I do not ask you to pay extra for your digital photos.
I absolutely do, but my process is a little different! I like to guide you into your best light and set up a scene for you, and then allow you to interact naturally with your kids before I insert myself. I definitely come prepared with lots of little tricks to keep your kids engaged and having fun, but I’ve found that kids respond best to me when I’m not forcing them to do anything.
I will send you family a planning & style guide beforehand that should help with this, but I always recommend those tried & true closet staples you know you look great in! Comfort and movement is key for your outfits. This may sound wild, but I’d also encourage you to let your kids have a say in what they wear, if they’re interested! It might be a fun surprise, and there’s nothing better than a kid who is excited about photos because they got to wear their favorite outfit.
If you can, I would recommend tidying up a little, but honestly not too much! Sometimes the mess adds something real and beautiful to your photos. Photographing stunning in-home sessions is also so much more about the light and shadows in your home, than how “Pinteresty” your home is.
