The historic manor home, dating back to the 1790s, adds so much charm, while the modern event spaces offer versatility for any type of wedding. It's the spot for you if you’re searching for something tranquil, yet elegant. One thing to note about Guildford Farm, is that the light atop this hill, where Heather & Josh said I do, is a dream for photos. The sun sets over the mountains, just about behind your ceremony site. What this means for you? Evenly lit ceremony photos. Crisp, classic family portraits that are frame-worthy. And the best part, newlywed photos of the two of you overlooking these amazing views. Even on a milky or overcast day, this light is a photographer’s dream. When photos are finished, you walk 5 minutes back to the reception space and enjoy a drink with your loved ones!

The name doesn’t lie—The View at Bluemont has one of the most breathtaking overlooks on this list. As you can tell from these photos, Diana & Jason watched a storm come in over the venue as we finished up the last few photos. An amazing thing about The View at Bluemont, is that the reception space and dining room has windows from floor to ceiling so you can look over the mountains even on a stormy summer night. Whether you have the last bit of sunset shining through the windows during your first dance, or rain pattering on the roof over cocktails, the views here will not disappoint.

If you’re dreaming of an elevated garden party vibe, The Market at Grelen is the spot. You’re surrounded by trees, flowers, and Blue Ridge views that seem to go on forever. It’s whimsical and elegant all at once, with the kind of natural beauty that feels like stepping into a storybook. One of my favorite parts of photographing this venue, is that they’ll actually drive you up to the very top of the orchard for portraits—where the view stretches wide and quiet and feels like your own private piece of Virginia. You can see your guests celebrating under the twinkle-lit tent across the valley, and you get to be in your own little world together. Besides the orchard, Market at Grelen has so many other tucked-away corners that photograph beautifully and offer amazing views. You can even say your I do’s with a view of the mountains.

Perched on 80 acres along the scenic Potomac River, Riverside on the Potomac has this laid-back, lived-in charm that makes your day feel cozy and effortless. It’s grand without being flashy, private without feeling remote, and perfect for couples who want a little bit of mountain magic with a refined twist. The ceremony space overlooks the mountains on 3 sides, and a short walk from the Inn gives you the most jaw-dropping hilly spot for photos. This is for you if you want your photos to be half sky, in the best way.

The Barn at Edgewood – Stanardsville, VA
The Barn at Edgewood sits right in the arms of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the views alone would be worth the drive. But what makes it unforgettable is how personal it can feel. One of my couples had a horse and carriage waiting to take them on a sunset ride after their ceremony (yes, it was as magical as it sounds). The bride also entered the ceremony by horse and carriage, talk about a fairytale entrance. They timed their vows just as the sun was slipping behind the mountains, and the whole sky lit up golden. It was one of those evenings you never forget. Back down the hill at the main venue space, The Barn at Edgewood also has a pond that you and your guests will love taking photos in front of, or snuggling in front of a campfire by.
