A Georgia Spring Wedding at Cow Beach, Thomasville, GA
Savanah and Colby’s wedding weekend was held at Cow Beach at Lee Green Farms in Thomasville, Georgia on a sunny day in March. This wedding day was BEAUTIFUL! Driving from Norfolk, Virginia down to Georgia after the mid-atlantic winter we had felt like the little dose of sun I needed. Their wedding celebration felt joyful, grounded, and full of love, and their sweet pup Huck was part of every moment. Honestly he might've stolen the show more than a few times!
This day meant a lot to me. I first met Savanah and Colby in San Diego—Colby arranged for photos of a surprise proposal, and later a flightline session for them before they moved across the country (Colby is a Marine). After I moved east also, we planned the cutest rainy day engagement session in Savannah, Georgia for them. The rain wasn’t part of the plan, but it turned out to be so gorgeous! Savannah’s old streets in the rain and Forsyth Park was a dream. Finally, S&C wanted me with them from Friday night, so I could document both their Rehearsal Dinner and their Wedding Day. Being brought back into someone’s story like that multiple times is the absolute best part of this work.
Their rehearsal dinner was complete with the most insanely good pizza served in the Cow Beach stables at sunset. Parents gave toasts, everyone got a little emotional, the sunset popped off, and it all felt simple in the best way.
The Morning of
Savanah and Colby started the day with a run together—which, if you know them, makes perfect sense. The girls got ready in Cow Beach’s light-filled bridal suite, which had plenty of space for hair, makeup, quiet hangs, and Huck, who napped like a champ while everything buzzed around him.
Savanah shared a first look with her dad, and then held hands with Colby around the corner for a first touch. The guys made breakfast at their Airbnb and threw back a shot for good measure before heading to the Cow Beach stables to change. No stress. Just a morning that actually felt good.
Ceremony Under the Pavilion
The ceremony was under the covered pavilion, one of the most stunning parts of having a Cow Beach Wedding. Huck walked down the aisle like he owned the place, then curled up beside his mom and dad as they read their vows.
After family photos, we ran into the field for sunset portraits. Huck ran too, frolicking in the background of basically every photo. No one was complaining. March in Georgia really showed off as it cooled down. Fresh breeze, the perfect sunset, blue skies.
Dancing Under the Sailcloth Tent
Cow Beach’s sailcloth tent is gorgeous. It’s classic without trying too hard—open, bright, and timeless. Toasts brought the tears, First Dances were shared, we all enjoyed the BEST dinner by Sass, Thomasville. and then The Leftovers 229 started playing and the dance floor was packed for the rest of the night! A live band like that brings a whole different energy. It’s like being at a concert with your best friends but also it’s your wedding day, what could be better.
Getting Married at Cow Beach? Here’s What to Know
This venue has everything you need. Cow Beach is beautiful in a way that feels natural. The layout flows. The energy is peaceful. It isn’t overdone with too much decor and too many structures. You don’t have to work hard to make it feel personal. It is perfect for the kind of intentional, personal, yet classic and luxurious celebration Savanah & Colby planned.
You will be so taken care of! The ladies who run this venue somehow manage setup, vendor coordination, and every tiny moment without ever breaking a sweat. Always smiling, making sure the other vendors have what they need. They are truly gems and I wish I lived closer so we could be friends!
The spaces are thoughtful.
The bridal suite has beautiful window light and enough room for everyone to breathe. It has a full kitchen so you can keep your bubbly cold and snack all morning.
The stables work perfectly for rehearsal dinners or the guys getting ready.
The pavilion gives you a covered ceremony option without losing the outdoor feeling, and the stunning light.
The tent is spacious and stunning, especially at night.
Cow Beach keeps things natural, you have plenty of places (the open field, the woodsy area) to take those stunning, natural portraits without background distractions.
The weather in March is lovely. And I know Georgia heats up in the summertime, but a March wedding feels like warm summer breeze without you and your guests absolutely melting.
Do the rehearsal dinner in the stables. It's casual in the best way. You’ll get a golden hour that glows through, and a cozy, relaxed start to your weekend.
Want to Include Your Dog in Your Wedding? 🐾
Cow Beach makes that totally doable—and Huck was proof. If your dog’s part of your story, here’s how to make it work:
Choose a venue that is actually dog-friendly. Not just “allowed”—but welcoming. Cow Beach was that.
Have a designated dog buddy. Someone not in the wedding party who can handle walks, water, and chill time.
Let them be part of the morning. Some of the sweetest moments were Huck asleep during hair and makeup.
Plan for portraits with freedom. Huck wasn’t posed—he was just there, doing his thing. That’s what made it great.
Bring a few dog basics. Water bowl, treats, waste bags, and something comforting like their bed or favorite toy.
Have a quiet space ready. If your pup gets overstimulated, make sure there’s a place they can escape to.
If you're planning a South Georgia Wedding or a Cow Beach Wedding, and you care most about the people, the feel of the day, and the real stuff—I’d love to be there for it.
